Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site and Botanical Garden

Looking for a bit of fresh air? Step into the 1800s with a visit to local landmark Old Prairie Town, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Groups, classes, families, and individuals are welcome to stroll the grounds or take guided tours to view the 1800 era replicas of a schoolhouse, church, general store, train station, and more. The grounds offer a great setting through all seasons, but its prime is Tulip Time during the spring when the 20,000 tulips are in bloom and the pathways are decorated by numerous lighted structures and garden décor.

Old Prairie Town and the Ward-Meade mansion offer rental options as well. The botanical gardens with arbor and seating area is a great setting for an intimate wedding or the mansion, stable, and general store offer various settings for groups up to 70 in capacity.
