Yesterday's Motorcycle Museum & Evel Knievel Museum

Historic Harley Davidson of Topeka - Front Entrance | Topeka, KSThe Historic Harley-Davidson® of Topeka has grown and thrived in the Capital City for over 70 years. After surviving the fire of the neighboring Throop Hotel in Downtown Topeka in 1950, owner Henry Patterson and his small team found themselves in 3-feet of water after the Great Flood of 1951 swept through Topeka. Times were tough, but perseverance won out, and after decades in the business, Patterson saw his business grow and his son and grandson join the team. With three generations of Pattersons at the wheel and the rise in popularity of Harley-Davidson, the Topeka shop more than tripled in size in less than a decade. By 1999, the Topeka Harley-Davidson® hit its 50-year mark, cementing Henry Patterson’s legacy in Topeka just shortly prior to his passing.

Since 2000, the Historic Harley-Davidson® has been located at 21st and Topeka Blvd. The building was constructed in 1935 and had housed the Shawnee County Maintenance Department and then Willie C’s Restaurant. The renovation allowed the Topeka shop to incorporate a restaurant (Henry’s Grill) and a museum (Yesterday’s) into the dealership at the new location. This unique combination has created a destination and enjoyable stopping point for motorcyclists and visitors alike.
